Not all superheroes wear capes - some have Teaching Degrees!
We appreciate all of our Teachers. We hope they feel valued and cherished not just today or this week, but every day. We have 60+ teachers in our building and we could not operate without a single one of them. THANK YOU to all of our teachers!

KWCH Channel 12 Chief meteorologist Ross Jannsen and meteorologist Peyton Sanders gave an awesome presentation to the 4th graders at Amelia Earhart to talk about severe weather in Kansas and how to better prepare for storms and tornadoes. The guys did an amazing job, and the bonus was also getting to see Ross's sweet dog, May.

Mrs. Pfaff lights up a room and we are thankful to have her in our building!

The third grade had a fun morning with meteorologists from the National Weather Service! They learned about different kinds of weather, what a meteorologist does, and how to stay safe in the crazy Kansas Weather!"

Mrs. McAnally goes above and beyond for our kiddos!

Final Fundraiser Challenge!

Our last Earhart Scholastic Book Fair of the school year will be held next week from April 29th-May 3rd! This fair is a BOGO (Buy One Get One FREE) fair and is only open for 1 week. Students will be visiting the fair on their library day next week to make purchases and/or wish lists, and will also have the chance to purchase on Friday the 3rd. This is a great chance to stock up on books for summer reading, and every purchase benefits our school library!
Notes went home with students on their library day this week about setting up eWallet accounts and ordering online. The Earhart Scholastic site for more information is:

Anyone can drive a car. It takes someone special to drive a SCHOOL BUS!
Thank you to all of our AMAZING Bus drivers we have in USD 265!

It has been so great to have an art class at Earhart this school year. Thank you to Ms. Thomas and Ms. Elkins for helping with this after school opportunity. The Monart Drawing Classes have helped students learn the basics of drawing while experimenting with new media including markers, colored pencils, chalk and oil pastels, watercolor and much more. Here are some pictures taken from this week's class.

Mrs. Hummer is a shining light in our school! Thankful to have her here.

We had the absolute pleasure of welcoming Miss Kansas to our school on Friday. Students got to watch her preform her amazing tap routine and listen to her message about her community service initiative: One Vision is Not the Only Vision: Eye See
You. Her focus for this initiative is to address the hardships hindering the blind and visually impaired (BVI) community from clearly navigating their way through life. She had the students engaged from the start, and they had a blast! Thanks, Miss Kansas for stopping by!

Want to be more involved in the School community? Be apart of discussions and learn about school improvement and building plans. Come join our Site Council meeting on Monday, April 22nd at 4:30. Held at Oak Steet Elementary.
